History & Spirit

Established in 1999 through a generous endowment from the John Middleton Company in memory of Herbert H. Middleton, Jr., the Center is housed in the historic Converse House. Built in 1912 for the Rev. Andrew Mutch and his family from Glasgow, Scotland, Converse House has long embodied the spirit of home. Today, the Middleton Counseling Center extends that spirit to all who enter its door, providing a welcoming space for sharing life’s questions, sorrows, and joys as you grow in body, mind, and spirit.
